Charlotte’s Oamaru Trash (love) The Dress – 2 November

Hey guys,

Over the weekend I went down to Oamaru – with the dual purpose of visiting my family (which was lovely) – and also doing a shoot in the beautiful old building district with Charlotte.

We kicked off at a really cool field about half an hour out of Oamaru – lots of yellow stuff!

Then we headed into town, and got some great shots around the old buildings, doorways, and surrounding areas. Thanks also to Charlotte’s husband, who (while not overly keen for photos) did a fantastic job of helping with the lighting – which really makes a huge difference 🙂

You’ll notice that although I’ve called this shoot a “Trash the Dress” – there’s no actual “trashing” – just a fantastic opportunity to wear the dress again & get some great shots! If you haven’t seen it, have a flick through our dedicated Trash the Dress site for our interpretation of what a “Trash the Dress” is.

I had a fantastic time with you guys – thanks so much for making the trek down! Hope you enjoy the images 🙂

Isaac.

Fantastic! I don’t know which are my faves .. They are all awesome.
I can see why you love the old buildings Isaac.
Charlotte, that must have been so much fun getting to wear your dress again, you look great, such the model 😉

    Absolutely – old buildings rock!
It was so much fun, had a great time! 🙂

    Hmm…

I’m not at all sure about the symbolism here. A bride, alone, amongst derelict abandoned buildings?

Outside a run-down hotel, looking expectantly for someone?

And my personal favourite… outside an auctioneers’ hall!

    Truly fascinating subject matter.

  4. Haha – thanks Catherine, trust you to pick up on those details – miss “I’m never getting married!!” 😛

Funny Catherine, my mother-in-law said the same thing about the auctioneer’s hall … I didn’t (and don’t) think about those details, rather just enjoyed the chance to wear my wedding dress again and re-live some of the fun I had on my wedding day!
