All the cutaways in the film are places Chace loved to go. He loved the colour lello (yellow), he loved food. He loved his hammer. Chace also had amazing support from his family and friends, his town and the wider community. It’s this support that has helped to carry the Topperwien’s through this tragedy.

Cancer is a horrible thing and something no one should ever have to go through, especially when it strikes children. Chace’s parents Ryan and Keri are setting up a charity so that through Chace’s tragedy they can continue to make a difference in this world. If you would like to follow and support the work being done through Chace please stay tuned. Big things are coming.
If this film has impacted you please share it around. Life is the most important thing we’ve got. It’s stories like Chace’s that need to be heard.

On a personal note being involved in Chace’s funeral reminded me how important and sacred life and love really are. We can so easily get sucked into the temptations of our western world. More TV channels or Facebook friends. Having more money, flasher toys or higher social status. But when it comes down to it, we have one short life. One life to fill with things that are truly meaningful. One life to live so that when it’s our turn to leave this world our legacy will continue to live through us.
It’s a challenge for me to hold perspective on these things but It’s through people like Chace, Keri and Ryan that challenge us to remember why we’re really here.

This film was filmed on the 20th of June 2012 in the towns of Whakatane and Ohope.
