Pauanui Wedding Photos

I had been looking forward to Jay & Letitia’s wedding for a long time. They’re the kind of bubbly, warm people that leave you feeling like you have known them for years, so I knew their wedding day would be something special.
The day arrived and we were blown away by how much thought and love they had put into their wedding day. From the details, the speeches, their vows – even their entrances to the ceremony – it was absolutely 100% THEM.
Originally they had been looking forward to a beachfront wedding, but the NZ weather got the better of them, and the ceremony took place inside Puka Park Resort – they took it all in their stride.

The car that drove Letitia the (very short) drive to the ceremony, had been in her family for generations. It took several attempts – and one very determined father of the bride – but eventually they made it up the hill and the ceremony could begin.

Not to be outdone – Jay had planned his own grand entrance. Plan A had been for him to emerge from over the sand dunes on his motorised push bike – but Plan B was just as well received 🙂

It’s at this point in the day, that I reckon I can pick the vibe of how the evening reception is going to go. Jay + Letitia’s guests rivalled them for enthusiasm and excitement – a sure sign of an epic party to come!

In chatting with Jay and Letita a few weeks before the wedding – we had discussed the wet weather alternative for Pauanui. We came to the conclusion that there really wasn’t one, and these guys were going to rock the beach rain or shine….. or as it turned out – gale force winds! They and their bridal party got a proper sand blasting as they were battled their way along the beach – but you’d hardly know this looking at the grins on their faces.

Back at the considerably warmer reception, Jay and Letita’s thoughtful touches were everywhere. More than just a carefully constructed colour theme, every detail had relevance and significance for these two – making it extra special.

I’m not sure who started the “let’s make a hat out of our napkin” challenge – but these guys sure were creative!
