The run of perfect summer weather came to a dramatic end a few days before Mel & Duncan’s wedding.
Auckland’s motorways were closing, Thames was falling into the sea, trees toppled everywhere – and all that RAIN.
On the morning of the wedding, the forecast held promises. Clearing by afternoon, they said.
Looking out the window at steadily falling rain the entire morning – we weren’t overly convinced.
However, for once the weather forecast rang true – not only did the rain clear up magically in time for the ceremony … but later in the evening when we ducked outside we were bathed in glorious golden light… and at the very end of the night the stars boldly shone through.
It really couldn’t have worked out more perfectly. Some cool rainy photos, an all-too-perfect field of wildflowers, a beautiful ceremony led by a close friend, and spending the day surrounded with smiles & laughter with the ones they loved. Throw in a singalong dancefloor of epic proportions and you have one. rad. wedding.
Mel & Duncan are such genuine, lovely people – intrepid travellers with a penchant for going out of their way to check everyone is happy, that people are enjoying themselves – offering help at any opportunity – the kind of people I’m so stoked to be able to hang out with on their wedding day & just spend time with!
