Pre wedding photography New Zealand

Vivian and Will came all the way from Singapore for their pre-wedding photos in Taupo.

We threw around a lot of ideas for pre-wedding photo locations, but it was the amazing variation of the Taupo landscape and the surrounding National Park that won them over.
We started our adventure in Taupo – we were on the hunt for a beautiful field of long grass – which we found just outside of Taupo. As we drove further along the road – a few purple flowers started to appear – and before long we had encountered an entire field of them – just perfect!

As we headed further south towards the mountains, we stopped for a few photos in the beautiful New Zealand native bush – complete with ferns and other natives.
We were incredibly lucky as we managed to get a few minutes view of the mountains before the clouds roll in – making for dramatic skies and soft light. Things started to get a little tense as the moody skies developed into torrential rain. We found a moment of shelter in a conveniently placed pine forest before crossing our fingers and making for the mountain.
That was when the clouds really started to pay off. As the sun started to set, the stormy clouds remained on the horizon, but the clear sky underneath started to light up with the most beautiful reds and oranges and we even got a perfect moment of sun shining through. We decided on the way back down the mountain that we were really very grateful for the questionable weather and the spectacular display it ended up putting on for us. It may have been touch and go at times, but we wouldn’t have had quite the same drama on a perfect blue sky day.
