Pukekohe wedding photos – Anita & Vin’s sneak peek!

Hi guys,

A couple of weeks ago, we photographed the second celebration of Anita & Vin’s wedding. The day before this, they had their traditional Indian ceremony… I still have no idea how they managed the energy for another wedding the following day!

Jumping backwards a few days…. we had been out in Pukekohe scouting locations.. and stopped by Anita’s parents place. It was a full house – as the henna was being applied to Anita, her bridesmaids, family – even Amber ended up getting some done!

I couldn’t believe how fast they were able to apply patterns like this, it was incredible to watch. Although, Anita said these ones on her hands & feet took over 2 hours… it’s easy to see why though – such intricate designs!

On the wedding day, we headed into the boys place, to catch up with Vin & his groomsmen. It’s funny seeing the difference in atmosphere on a wedding day, between the girls’ getting ready, and the guys. For the boys, it’s usually pretty laid back!

In the backyard, a bit of cricket was in order..

When we arrived at Anita’s place, the rain that had been threatening in Auckland had well & truly set in over in Bombay. The ceremony was planned for an outdoor garden.. but at the last minute, the decision was made to move into the reception hall.

Anita had an amazing Vera Wang wedding gown… and I like that in this shot, it tells both the story of her amazing dress, and also the rain that we had in the morning..

We used a bit of lighting in the lounge to make the most of this cool chandelier & create a cool, moody image.

Down at the reception hall, everything was set up & looking amazing!

The guests arrived, and the ceremony was underway.

After the ceremony, we headed out around the block to work some of the fields & crops into our images. We found these cool sheds on the side of the road… and on mentioning them to Anita earlier in the day, we found out… ‘oh – my uncle owns those!’ … permission granted :)

Who would have thought, as we watched the rain fall in the morning, that our biggest problem on the photoshoot would be the outbreaks of bright sunlight through the clouds!

This perfect little field of grass was another spot that belongs to one of Anita’s family members.. such an amazing view out over all of Pukekohe!

This spot was a super quick roadside stop – where the sun was just catching behind on the crops in the perfect direction. We couldn’t help ourselves making a detour & capturing this image…

It was time to head back into the reception, where the evening kicked off with some hilarious speeches (I love the insights we get into people when they’re the subject of speeches… some funny things… and always some deep, heartfelt, and beautiful things).

One of the perks of our job, when photographing receptions, is getting to try the lovely food. The added bonus of photographing an Indian wedding = incredible Indian food. It was so. good. And how cool are the desserts!

Things kicked off on the dancefloor – and the party was well & truly underway!

During the evening, we had been scouting around the reception hall… and had discovered the mezzanine floor with fold down, theater style seats. So just before we headed away, we managed to sneak Anita & Vin upstairs for a quick parting shot – which we spotlight with some flash.

Simunovich Olive Estate wedding photos – Rachel & Duncan’s sneak peek

Hi guys,

A week ago, we headed out to Simunovich Olive Estate in Bombay – home to the fabulous Bracu restaurant, and also the venue for Rachel & Duncan’s gorgeous wedding.

Early in the day, we headed over to Maxwell’s Golf Retreat – where petanque on the lawn was the order of the morning… followed by racing around in the golf cart.

Even though they didn’t wear them to the wedding, Duncan & his brothers donned their kilts for a few shots reflecting their Scottish heritage…

Rachel and her bridesmaids were getting ready just around the corner from Simunovich Estate, at Moya Lodge – a gorgeous little spot where we love to photograph!

The ceremony took place down by the lake at the Simunovich Estate pavilion – the sounds of the bagpipes rang out as the car arrived…

Duncan had a special family sword, which was to feature later in the cake cutting. Although – it got a bit of a workout before this happened!
